Group Exhibition In July At The Gosford Regional Gallery
The second exhibition in July I’m involved with engages another group of artists. I will be exhibiting a different body of work from that in the ShoreThyme Exhibition.
There is a wonderful variety of works in this show, with each artist having developed their unique vision of the world. We have been working together for eighteen months now,as a group, in a studio practice under the watchful eye of John Morris, well-known Australian, new Romantic painter.
What is a ‘studio practice?’ A studio practice is the working modus operandi if you like, of the artist. It involves beginning with an idea, which you work up through sketches, more detailed drawings and perhaps quick paint studies, before settling into the final work. For example the charcoal drawing I did below, which then became
the next image you see here, gives you an idea of how the process develops into a painting.
It is through this art practice that one grows and develops as an artist.
This Weeks Question: What are you doing on Saturday the 18th July at 2.30pm ?
