If you live in or near to Sydney going to see the 2012 Biennale is a must do! We went to see the Cockatoo Island installations last weekend.
Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are some pix of my favourite ones.
The scale of this work by Peter Robinson is immense as you can see. Enormous old machinery draped with polystyrene chains, ranging from tiny delicate ones to the monstrous ones you can see at the top of the image.
These works by Li Hongbo are incredible paper fans which when closed are in the shape of an AK47 rifle. To understand more about Li’s exhibit have a look at his artist statement.
Lastly for this week is a photo of one of Cal Lane’s works, a shipping container, cut out with playful, almost child like designs and painted.
This Weeks Question: When did you last go and experience an installation? Can you get to Cockatoo Island before September?
