Wamberal Beach

Wamberal Beach

Have you been to the beautiful Central Coast 80Ks north of Sydney? Not only are there stunning beaches but there are also many things to see and do, ranging from whale watching to tree top climbing Adventures.  Something else you may not have considered is the vibrant arts community to explore, with many hidden galleries and eclectic art studios.

One  of the events which takes place regularly on the Central Coast is the Five Lands Art Trail which is coming up this weekend on the seventh and eighth of November. Several artists on the Central Coast will open their studios for the public to come and have a look at . So if you have a couple of hours why not take a trip, visit some great artist studios and take in some of the local cafes to make a day of it. One of my favourite cafes on the coast is the Two Birds Gallery Cafe at Toowoon Bay.  They have great food and coffee, as well as an intriguing range of hand crafted gifts and paintings.

The Five Lands Artists Collective Inc is a non-profit group of over 30 visual, performing and literary artists located on the Central Coast in NSW.  In addition to performances and exhibitions, as part of the 5 LANDS WALK, they initiated this exciting 5 Lands Art Trail in 2012, where art lovers can meet the artists and see their studios first hand!

Here is a list of the artists whose studios will be open this weekend.

This Weeks Question: Have you ever visited an artist’s studio before and seen the processes behind the paintings

Pop up gallery at Tuggerah.

On Saturday we will see the first pop up gallery at Tuggerah out the Central Coast NSW. Throughout the month of November, The Central Coast Collective will be the first group involved in a joint project between Westfield Tuggerah and Wyong Council. This will involve a pop-up gallery in a store situated outside in the restaurant precinct. The show will open at 9 am on Saturday the first of December. The artists involved delivered their art works on the Saturday last weekend and on Tuesday we began the bump out of the works.

Hanging any exhibition is always a bit of a juggle when you have work from twenty different artists, it is quite a challenge to get them all looking good together!
