Vlog – what is that? For those of you who haven’t come across that term before, it is a video blog post. So I’m getting with the program and creating one. Remember what I said in the last post about learning – well this was another learning curve – of course it’s not Hollywood yet but I’m getting there. The painting in this vlog is part of my Peony series.
When I get back from the visit to my Muse in New Zealand in April, I want to start filming in real-time so I can give you a more realistic look at my painting process. However it will be a little while before that happens. I’m actually at the moment in the middle of a prolonged artist’s date, enjoying the New Zealand countryside and filling up my creative backpack.

This Weeks Question: How did my vlog work for you? Feedback welcomed!
Look For Next Week’s Post: Return from the wilds and discoveries made there.
I suspect that all work is really in a state of emergence. Really, it is a question of deciding when it has fully emerged. This new work is called Emergence, because that is how it feels. The question is, what is emerging? Well I guess that depends on how you, the viewer feel about it. I suspect it might be something different for each of us. This work is the third in my series dealing with clothing. Here are some photos of the work in progress and the finished painting……
It began with drawing – as posted earlier…….
And progressed to drawing up on the canvas…. and oops – it looks like I forgot to take any photos of the intermediate stages. Well there is one…..
Preliminary brush strokes after the under painting
As you can see, at this stage the work didn’t have any of the fine detail added to it. Below is the finished work followed by some close up shots of some the details.
